Watch the video below as I discuss a common myth that people have about therapy. It might burst your bubble a bit, but I hope you find it helpful. If you prefer to read, scroll down and see the transcript of this video.

Hey Guys, my name is Diana, and today I wanted to talk a little bit about maybe a myth about starting therapy.  So a lot of times, I’ll get clients walking through the door, and of course, you know their goals are “I want to get rid of my anxiety, depression, trauma,” whatever the case is, right?

I want you to give me the golden tool that will help me figure out how I can no longer have these experiences to feel happy, right, or more confident, or whatever the case is. The reality is that there is no secret to getting rid of these uncomfortable thoughts or feelings.  The fact is that if you’re a human and you have a pulse, you’re going to have painful internal experiences. So the goal in therapy is really to learn how to change your relationship with them. Again so when they come, because these experiences will come up, the question is, “how do I change my relationship with them?”. And really shift the focus on what I can do with my hands and feet that will be meaningful in my life.

Okay, so if you have any questions, please message me or comment on any of my posts. I hope you guys have a great one!
